A fresh crisis is brewing within the embattled deputy governor’s camp in Ondo State, as allegations of stolen mobilization funds by his loyalists have surfaced.

It has come to light that Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is fuming at one Biyi Poroye for consistently collecting substantial sums of money for tasks that he has failed to accomplish.

Poroye had reportedly arranged legal representation for the deputy governor and organized protesters from various parts of the state to converge in Akure a few weeks ago.

However, it has been revealed that Poroye was inflating the cost of mobilization for the deputy governor and receiving kickbacks from lawyers and other key organizers of protests and tasks.

Over the weekend, Aiyedatiwa confronted Poroye after becoming aware of the exploitation.

A close source to Poroye, who spoke confidentially to our correspondent, disclosed: “Lucky is extremely displeased with Poroye’s actions. He believes that Poroye is siphoning funds from him. The deputy governor appears to have learned that Poroye has been exaggerating the cost of every task.

“Among us, Poroye had mentioned that he anticipated the deputy governor’s eventual impeachment. He viewed this as an opportunity to profit from the situation. Poroye has been actively recruiting individuals to join Lucky’s camp, connecting them with the deputy governor, and then directing him to provide them with funds.

“He recognizes that such funds would pass through him, allowing him to take a cut before disbursing the money to the intended recipients. This pattern has persisted since Lucky initiated his efforts to remove his boss.

“Aiyedatiwa has uncovered Poroye’s financial gains at his expense, leaving him deeply resentful. Poroye had openly declared that Lucky is like a ‘Bureau de Change’ with plenty of dollars to be extracted from him before his potential impeachment.”
