Imo govt approves immediate renovation of 305 primary health centres

The Imo State Government through the office of the Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy , Dr Doris Uzoka- Anite has approved the immediate renovation of all the 305 primary care centers built across the 27 Local government areas of the state.
The Finance Commissioner stated this on Tuesday while addressing the Officers In Charge, OIC , of all the primary health centres in the state and the 27 IMC Chairmen at the Government House Owerri, Imo state capital .
She said the initiative was in line with the current administration’s medical infrastructure blueprint strategy which is aimed at revamping health facilities and making them fit for use.
According to her,” before the inception of the 3R administration of Imo governor Senator Hope Uzodinma , the healthcare centers in all the LGAs has been in bad shape, which prompted the governor after the inspection of this facilities to approve funds for their immediate revamping ”
Also Speaking the Imo Commissioner for Health, Dr Bartholomew Okorochukwu said that, the governor of Imo state Senator Hope Uzodimma is determined to rebrand the moribund primary health care centers to be in good condition and accessible for the benefit of all the Imo people.
He Further stated that, Recovering, Rehabilitating, and reconstructing of Al the primary health care centers in the state is part of his commitment and aganda.
Okorochukwu, further disclosed that governor Uzodinma want the project to be completed before the end of December, 2021.
The Executive Secretary of Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ISPHCDA) ISPHCDA, Rev. Sis. (Dr.) Maria-Joannes Uzoma, said that, the renovation of this health facilities will go a long way in improving the health condition of Imo citizens.
Commending the governor on behalf of other Imo Council Chairmen, Barr. Chide Okechuchwu who also is the Ehim Mbano IMC Chairman said Governor Hope Uzodimma, has meet one of the needs of Imo people which is health need. while appealing to all the health workers in Imo state to make good use of the opportunity and Contribute their quotas toward the emancipation of Imo health Care centers.
