The Imo State shared prosperity Ambassador to USA Engr Emmanuel Ihenacho has commended the publication of ORA USA which has gone viral, declaring their support for Governor Hope Uzodimma government while also calling for an end to insecurity in the state.
Earlier before their publication, Engr. Emmanuel Ihenacho on 12th June, 2021 expressed his dissatisfaction of ORA USA in a zoom town hall held online questioning why the Orlu political leaders are not coming out to denounce the security unrest in Orlu and Imo State. Him( Ihenacho) in the same meeting urged them to support and empower their son Senator Hope Uzodimma, who is the Governor of Imo State, to successfully carry out his 3R mantra of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery for the benefit of all.
Ihenacho used the opportunity to question the Orlu community in America and challenged them to support governor Uzodinma, in a town hall that was well attended by who is who in Orlu in America, , a town hall also attended by former governor Achike Udenwa, including notable Eze’s from Orlu, including HRH, Eze Akano, Eze Anyakaudo, Eze Chima Dimoriaku, Eze Victor Ikenna,
Hon Uju onwudiwe, ORA. PG Tony Okpara, and host of notable Orlu technocrats and professionals in America.
Engr. Ihenacho is however elated that ORA has released her commuque in support of our active Governor while proferring solution to the lingering insecurity in Imo State.
In his submission, Engr Emmanuel Ihenacho, appreciated ORA USA for speaking up in a time like this as he encourage them to go a lot further to bring their investment to help develop Imo State for betterment of Imo citizenry.
The Communique issued by Orlu Regional Assembly in USA that has attracted wider Commendation especially the one from Engr. Ihenacho which is the umbrella Organization of all parochial associations of Orlu people in the fifty States of the United States of America and committed
to the promotion of the wellbeing of Orlu people both home and abroad is as follows:
1. That ORA USA acknowledges the fact that there can only be one Governor of Imo State at a time and encourages all citizens of Imo State to support His Excellency Governor Hope Odidika Uzodimma to restore peace in our dear Imo State and put it on the part of development. ORA USA also urges the
Governor to always be responsive to the yearnings and aspirations of Imo people.
2. ORA USA bemoans the reckless gruesome murder of Imo citizens and wanton destruction of properties in Imo State and pleads on all perpetrators to cease hostilities in the interest of peace and progress of Orlu and Imo State.
3. Equally, ORA USA highlights the urgent need for the Governor of Imo State and our son, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to liaise with the hierarchy of the military and other
security operatives within Imo State to deescalate the current tensed situation in Imo State and fully restore normalcy.
4. That the Governor should set up a judicial panel of enquiry to look into the murder of both innocent citizens and security operatives within Imo State especially victims of collateral damages. The Governor
should also use his good office to secure the release of the corpses of victims of mistaken identity to their families for closure; restitute however possible, and also secure the release of those innocently incarcerated.
5. ORA USA as a nonpartisan critical stakeholder in Orlu and Imo State will urgently set up a nonpartisan peace and reconciliation committee to be made up of nonpartisan stakeholders within Orlu to mediate between the Governor and critical political leaders in Orlu with a view of reconciling any political and personal differences in the interest of security, peace and socioeconomic development of Orlu and Imo State.
6. Equally, ORA USA encourages Traditional rulers to maintain peace and harmonious coexistence within their various communities; ensure the maintenance and funding of functional vigilantes within
their various communities to deter crime and respond timely and appropriately. Also to ensure proper education and engagement of the youths of their various communities to deter them from being used as agents of destruction in Imo State.
7. Furthermore, ORA USA will partner with the Governor and other philanthropists on youth
developmental Programs that will provide employment opportunities, capacity building and career pathway for our youths.
Conclusively, ORA USA condemns the gruesome killings and shedding of blood in Imo State; and charges all critical stakeholders within the state to ensure that peaceful and safe is restored to Imo State. ORA USA charges on all factions to cease hostility and give peace a chance so that the Government can focus on its responsibilities of providing good governance to Imo State. Remember, this is the only state we have and we call on all to eschew any urge
to destroy our dear state.
