With the upcoming public presentation of the remarkable book, “Ilorin Emirate’s Frontliners,” written by the highly talented and self-motivated Abubakar Imam, National Secretary of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), I have no doubt in my heart that the writer has etched his name in gold. This extraordinary work is a testament to the rich heritage and outstanding accomplishments of selected prominent individuals from Ilorin, dead or alive, who have excelled in their respective fields and those whose humanitarian services to Ilorin community were outstanding.
As a proud Ilorin native myself, I cannot express enough the excitement and anticipation surrounding this momentous book launch, an event that is scheduled to take place this Saturday, 1st July, 2023 at the Banquet Hall, Opposite Government House, Ilorin. Abubakar Imam’s diligent efforts in compiling the stimulating profiles of these successful sons and daughters of Ilorin and few non- indigenous residents of Ilorin with significant impacts on the community, have created an invaluable resource for our community. The book serves as a beacon of inspiration and motivation, showcasing the values and ethos that have played a pivotal role in their remarkable achievements.
Imam’s dedication to promoting and preserving the unique legacies of Ilorin shines through every page of this remarkable literary and first of its kind masterpiece. His meticulous research and eloquent storytelling style breathe life into the experiences and journeys of these exceptional individuals, offering a profound insight into their trials and triumphs and the invaluable life lessons they have learned along the way.
