“I’m so sorry” – Diddy tenders’ public apology after video of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie surfaces online
In a recent video circulating online, renowned American rapper and music mogul, Diddy, has publicly expressed his remorse and issued an apology for his actions towards his ex-partner, Cassie, which were captured in a hotel surveillance footage.
The video was shared on Diddy’s official Instagram page on May 19th, 2024.
Diddy sincerely acknowledged that his behavior in the footage was completely unacceptable. Initially obtained by CNN and released on Friday, the distressing video depicts Diddy hastily exiting a hotel room while wearing only a towel, pursuing Cassie towards the elevator.
In a fit of rage, he forcefully grabs her by the back of her neck, forcefully throws her to the ground, kicks her, shoves her, and proceeds to drag her by her sweatshirt.
Later in the footage, he returns to kick her once more and hurls an object from a nearby table at her.
In his apology statement, Diddy expressed his deep disgust towards his own behavior and revealed that he has sought therapy at a rehabilitation center. He also shared that he has turned to God, seeking mercy and grace in his life, emphasizing his genuine remorse for his actions.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Diddy said on Instagram.
“I was fncked up — I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” Combs said Sunday. “I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
