A Nigerian man only identified as Mr Nigeria101, who trekked from Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, has lamented the lack of attention and honour from President Bola Tinubu’s government.

Mr Nigeria101, who became popular on TikTok and other social media platforms when he commenced his journey from the Southwest region to Abuja in late 2024 said he trekked over 600 kilometres to meet with President Tinubu. However, neither the President nor anyone in the Presidency gave him any attention.

Several videos documenting his adventure from Ibadan to Abuja were uploaded on his TikTok page with 36,000 followers and 432,600 likes.

In his recent video, the man was heard expressing his deep frustration and disappointment with the Tinubu government, feeling abandoned despite putting his life on the line to show his support.

He’s now threatening to cause a scene and continue protesting by wandering about in Abuja until his demands are met or until his death, unless President Tinubu decides to acknowledge and reward his loyalty.

He said: “Dear Nigerians, what the government is doing to me is bad. I used my legs to trek from Ibadan to Abuja since December 1, 2024, to date, not even a councillor of a ward has attended to him to say ‘You this guy, why did you trek from Ibadan to Abuja?’ It is unfair. It is not something to be proud of.

“See, I just started. If no government official attends to me to ask me why I embarked on this adventure, I will not rest. I will turn into a government liability; I will become a disturbance. I will continue to trek from one place to another till my blood will finish, till my last breath. I will not go home unless they attend to me.”
