IG Orders Probe of Ondo PDP Chieftain Accused of Kidnapping, Ritual Killings
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered a thorough investigation into the alleged case of kidnapping and ritual killing levied against one Mohammad Sani Oladele, popularly known as Alhaji Rodo, chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo state.
Mr Sani, ally of the candidate of the PDP in the November 16th governorship election in Ondo state and Director General of the PDP campaign in Irele local government in Southern senatorial district of the State is said to have been serially involved in rituals and other fraudulent acts capable of to causing civil unrest.
The petition with reference number: CB:7000/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOL.745/372 dated 30th August 2024 was titled, “Re: Petition against Mr Mohammad Sani Oladele Over suspicion of Kidnapping, Involvement in rituals and acts likely to cause civil unrest.
Mr Oladele was arrested by police from AIG zone 17 in Akure.He was detained and interrogated,He confessed that,Mr Agbo Ola Ajayi ,The PDP governirship candidate in ondo state has been given him a corvering up by re-assigning his Police orderly and civil defense corps to him to provide Security cover. He added that he has donated twenty nine motorcycles to the PDP governorship candidate campaign team in Ode Irele and that,he has supported the campaign activities with eighty million naira.
This followed a petition against Mr oladele by a group of concerned citizens of Ondo state. The group in a petition signed by their lawyers, led by Barrister Douglas Najima, alleged that Mr Oladele is suspected to be among the persons perpetrating unscrupulous acts of criminality in the state.
The group also alleged that Oladele with herbalists who are into rituals practices in Ondo state. A police source who spoke with our reporter on the condition of anonymity confirmed that they arrested Alhaji Sanni sleeping in the mist of fresh unknown blood in his room at ode-irele on Friday 6th of September 2024
The petition read in part: “That the community is gripped with fear owing to the deplicable acts of kidnapping entrenched ritual practices suffered by the community in recent times as perpetrated by Mr Sani and his cohorts hence it is a matter of great concern”
” It is in light of the above that our client has expressed concern and further seeks for the investigation of Mohammad Sani Oladele who boasts of his influence and connections to avert his unlawful activities thereby affording him a level of protection that has thus far hindered any meaningful investigation into his activities.
The guy confessed to his crimes and mentioned Agboola Ajayi, the PDP gubernatorial candidate, as his backer, and that he has been spending the ill- gotten wealth on party. Meanwhile, some notable PDP leaders like Eddy olafeso, Chairman of the PDP Campaign Council among other chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party in the State were at the police zone 17 the first day of arrest to facilitate Oladele ‘s bail.
Agboola Ajayi’s has repeatedly been listed as one of Oladele’s biggest beneficiaries as the alleged criminal has donated allegedly donated 29 motorcycles to the PDP candidate’s campaign and over 80 million naira to Agboola Ajayi. The PDP candidate has, in turn, procured a security personnel for the criminal from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) despite knowing about Oladele’s criminal involvements.
