AC Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic has declined to comment over emerging reports that the Italian giants attempted to sign Nigeria international Victor Osimhen before his loan move to Galatasaray in the summer, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

In a recent development, per Di Marzio, the Rossoneri tried to lure Osimhen to San Siro after it was evident that the striker was no longer in Napoli’s plan, having told the club of his intention to leave.

The Italian publication added that Ibrahimovic, who currently serves as a senior advisor at Milan, spoke to Napoli and Osimhen to try to lure him in on loan, but the deal did not work out.

When asked about the efforts he made to sign the 25-year-old, Ibrahimovic responded, “I will remain silent about this.”

Osimhen’s transfer saga dominated the news during the recently concluded summer transfer window.

The former Sporting Charleroi player ended his protracted summer transfer saga by joining the Turkish side on a loan deal from Napoli in the last hours of the window.

His transfer and eventual departure from Italy were one of the most talked about incidents at the time, having requested to leave Napoli despite penning a new contract in December 2023.

Despite helping Napoli to their first Scudetto win in over three decades two seasons ago with 26 goals, which earned him the Serie A top scorer’s award, Osimhen fell out with some fans of the club last season, pushing him towards the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium’s exit.

Osimhen made his debut last week for Galatasaray and will now be looking to play an important role for the club this season as they look to retain their Super Lig title.

After missing Tuesday’s game against Gaziantep FK due to paper work, the striker will return to action in Galatasaray’s heated Istanbul derby clash with Bright Osayi-Samuel’s Fenerbahçe at the Ulker Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Saturday.
