How Inspector, Two Security Guards Were Shot In Ogun Hotel Robbery

Suspected armed robbers targeted a hotel in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, resulting in the shooting of a police inspector and two security guards on Friday.

This incident occurred during a gunfight between police officers and the robbers.

The injured policeman and security guards were promptly rescued and taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu.

 

According to Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, the Sagamu Area command received a distress call around 1 a.m. regarding armed criminals operating at Remo Majestic Hotel in Sagamu. In response, a team of police officers was dispatched to the scene.

Upon the arrival of the police, the robbers opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Two of the robbers were fatally injured, while the others managed to flee into a nearby bush, some with gunshot wounds.

Among the items recovered from the robbers were two locally made single-barrel guns, four unused cartridges, 13 spent cartridges, a large pair of scissors, 10 Android phones, a Java phone, and a white Toyota Venza Car with registration number BWR 123DD Abuja.

Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, has ordered an immediate manhunt for the two suspects who escaped with gunshot wounds.
