House of Rep member awards scholarship to 1,100 students
Hon. Bashir Usman Gorau, the lawmaker representing Gada-Goronyo Federal constituency on Monday granted scholarship to 1,100 members of his constituency.
Speaking during the ceremony which held at the auditorium of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, he said 480 of them were students of universities while 620 were studying health related courses in different schools of health and colleges of nursing in the state.

He promised to extend the gesture to students of polytechnics among others, tasking his constituents to always study professional courses.
Some of the beneficiaries thanked him for the gesture.
The students were presented with customized credit cards with which to withdraw their money every year.
“Each of the beneficiaries’ account was credited with N40,000,” according to the lawmaker.
