Hon. Oriade Wellington Adebawo,Ondo State Emergency Management Agency Visits Flood-prone Areas In Ondo West.
In response to the recent flooding in Ondo West Local Government, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) officials to mobilize to the affected areas.
Special Assistant to Ondo State Prince, Hon. Oriade Wellington Adebawo, along with Mr. Idowu Ojo, Permanent Secretary to the Office of the Deputy Governor, led the SEMA team to Ondo West.
The SA and SEMA teams were received by Ondo West Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ayotunde Akinfolarin, and Dr. Hon. Jibayo Adeyeye. Esq and other stakeholders of the local government.
Their objective was to assess the damage caused by the flood and engage with the affected residents. Flooding, which is the overflow of water onto normally dry land, can result from heavy rains, ocean waves, rapid snow melting, or the breaking of dams or levees. Even a few inches of water can cause significant damage, potentially covering a house up to its rooftop.
