Political officeholders have been charged to stop acts of wickedness against the masses, saying Nigerians deserve empathy from their leaders in these difficult times.

This was disclosed by Baba Aladura of Land Canaan Worldwide, Elder Apostle Samson Odesanmi at the Ordination and Installation of former Osun House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Timothy Owoeye as Minister-in-Charge, of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Oke-Iro Ilesa, Osun State.

He stressed the need for political officeholders to hold onto the teaching of the Church in their dealings with the public, especially in these difficult times, saying service must be accompanied by empathy.

He also charged politicians to work on their greed emphasizing the need for them to realize the vanity of life before embarking on unnecessary harnessing of wealth at the detriment of the people.

“At this point in Nigeria, the people deserve empathy from those in public offices. We must show mercy to the people. Leaders must be careful of their pursuit of material wealth at the expense of the people. You should all be mindful of judgement day when God would expose your dealings in the open, let’s be considerate of those struggling for survival daily”, he said.

While describing Timothy Owoeye as a humble servant of God, he stressed the need for the newly ordained Minister not to jettison service to God for anything worldly activities.

“Owoeye is a man, who made time for the service God despite occupying public office. I urge you all to make time for the service of God in a bid to make the world a better place. You are fully ordained to serve God, no political campaign or struggle must distract you from your calling. God is leading your path”, he added.

In his remark, Owoeye described the present situation in the country as a phase which would soon pass, hence, the need to support the present administration with prayers and the country would be great again.
