HALTING BRAIN DRAIN AND MASS MIGRATION OF NIGERIANS – ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN AMERICAN PROFESSIONALS TO PARTNER DREAM NIGERIA MOVEMENT.
Association of Nigerian American Professionals has expressed its readiness to collaborate with Dream Nigeria Movement (DNM) and relevant agencies of the federal government of Nigeria to halt the mass migration of Nigerians abroad and create more windows of opportunities for Nigerians in the Diaspora, to contribute towards the development and progress of Nigeria.
Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu LLB, The Spokesman of Dream Nigeria Movement made this known after an in-depth discussion with some board members of Association of Nigerian American Professionals namely Hon. Chief Emeka Davies Ebo, who served for four years as Commissioner for Africa Affairs, in Maryland United States of America and Mazi Emmanuel Okoro estwhile President of Association of Nigerian American Professionals.

said that addressing brain drain and halting migration of young professionals requires
a systematic approach and collaboration between the government, private sector, civil society, and international partners.
He further commended the board members of Association of Nigerian American Professionals (ANAPIN) for their faith in the Nigerian Project which necessitated the establishment of the body to tap into the ingenuity of Nigerian professionals who have made an indelible mark in their various fields of endeavour and are passionate to contribute towards the advancement and development of Nigeria.
Hon. Chief Emeka Davies Ebo, A former Consultant to USAID and former Commissioner for Africa Affairs Maryland, USA bemoaned the adverse working conditions of some Nigerian professionals and blamed it for the mass migration of Nigerians abroad. He however called on the government at all levels to
create a conducive working environment, address issues such as bureaucracy, corruption, and poor governance, Improve the working conditions and increase the remuneration of professionals to halt the brain drain and retain skilled individuals in the Nation’s workforce.
Mazi Emmanuel Okoro, the estwhile president of ANAPIN stated that promoting economic growth and creating job opportunities in Nigeria through implementation of policies that attract investments, supports entrepreneurship and small businesses, and fostering a conducive business environment will encourage Nigerians in Diaspora to return home and contribute to the making of Nigeria’s Greatness.
The groups agreed to work together to foster a sense of patriotism and pride in Nigeria by promoting civic education, volunteering initiatives cum opportunities and celebrating laudable achievements of Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora as well as other initiatives that can encourage skilled individuals to stay and contribute to the development of the country.
