On Monday, #EndBadGovernance protesters, including a half-naked man, assembled at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota, Lagos State, despite the presence of heavily armed police personnel.
The protesters, who have been demonstrating since Thursday, August 1, 2024, vowed to continue their nationwide protest against hunger, hardship, and bad governance under President Bola Tinubu’s administration for 10 days.
They expressed disappointment and frustration with President Tinubu’s national address on Sunday, criticising him for taking three days to respond to the protests and failing to address their key demands.
The protesters rejected the President’s speech, calling it ‘unfortunate’ and inadequate.
Social media videos show a half-naked man joining protesters at the #EndBadGovernance demonstration, chanting in Yoruba, “We are angry, we are hungry.”

The protest venue was heavily surveilled by police, but demonstrators remained resolute in their determination to continue until the Tinubu government addresses their grievances.
This follows an incident on Sunday where thugs violently dispersed protesters gathered at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota for the fourth day of protests against economic hardship, poverty, and poor governance, as reported by SaharaReporters.
A peaceful #EndBadGovernance protest was disrupted on Sunday, just about three hours after President Tinubu’s national address, when suspected government-backed thugs armed with sticks and weapons stormed the venue, violently dispersing the demonstrators.
The disruption occurred amid a disagreement among protesters, with some suggesting a suspension of the demonstrations and others opposing the idea.
