Gunmen abduct two in Niger
Two individuals were abducted by gunmen in the Bayawn Bayawn area of Niger State in the early hours of Monday.
PUNCH Metro gathered from a post shared by X user, Zagazola, on Tuesday that the incident occurred around 1am.
The assailants reportedly stormed the residence of one Hamza Muhammad and kidnapped his younger sister, Fatima Muhammad, along with another victim.
Zagazola wrote, “According to intelligence sources, the incident occurred on March 17 at around 1am when armed assailants stormed the residence of one Hamza Muhammad and abducted his younger sister, Fatima Muhammad, along with another victim, Aminu Maiguga.

“The victims were taken to an unknown destination.”
When contacted on Tuesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the abduction to our correspondent, stating that efforts were underway to rescue the victims.
Abiodun said, “On 17/3/2025 at about 1230hrs, it was reported at A Div Kontagora that on the same date at about 0100hrs, some suspected kidnappers entered a residence at Bayawn Bayawn area of Kgora and abducted two persons, Fatima Muhammad and Aminu Maiguga, to an unknown destination.
“Police operatives and vigilante members have mobilised in an effort to trail and rescue the victims.”
