They were removed from his cabinet over allegations of serious misconduct and negligence.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Jude Chikadibia-Okpor, the affected officials were instructed to vacate their roles immediately.

Engineer Francis Ori, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, faces an indefinite suspension.

Dr. Moses Ekuma, Commissioner for Health and Social Development, along with key figures in the health ministry, including the permanent secretary and heads of the primary healthcare and health insurance agencies, has been suspended for three months.

During their absence, the Governor’s Special Assistant on Primary Health will oversee the health ministry.

The suspended officials have been ordered to return all government property, including vehicles, by the close of business on Monday, November 25, 2024.

This action comes shortly after Governor Nwifuru indefinitely suspended the Commissioner for Water Resources, Chinedum Nkah, over similar concerns.

The Governor has made it clear that such measures are part of his effort to maintain accountability in governance.
