The project is to address the housing challenges in the state.

Performing the groundbreaking at the Urban Shelter Estate, Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of the state, on Wednesday, the governor said the project, aimed at providing affordable housing solutions for the poor, vulnerable, and underserved communities, was a testament to his administrationā€™s commitment to addressing the stateā€™s housing deficit.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, the governor, who said housing was not just a mere structure but a pillar of human dignity, highlighted the strategies employed by the administration to address housing challenges in the state.

He listed the strategies as a partnership with local and international investors, implementing a social housing scheme and strengthening the Public Housing Corporation.

Sani noted that the project was expected to transform the lives of citizens and demonstrate the governmentā€™s commitment to social responsibility.

He encouraged other investors to seize the opportunities in the Kaduna housing sector while assuring them of a robust policy framework and steadfast commitment from the government.

ā€œOur collaboration with both local and international investors has been pivotal in addressing our housing challenges head-on.

ā€œI commend Urban Shelter for recognising the potential of Kaduna State and prioritising it in its investment strategy.

ā€œYour commendable efforts in developing over 25 hectares of land in the Millennium City, both Phase I and II, have paved the way for this new 200 hectares housing project under a Development Lease Agreement with the Kaduna State government.

ā€œI encourage both local and international investors to seize the immense opportunities available in Kaduna Stateā€™s housing sector. We extend not just an invitation but a firm assurance that your investments will be supported by a robust policy framework and steadfast commitment from our government,ā€ he said.
