Governor Aiyedatiwa Remains In-charge, Ilaje Youths Must Stop the Propaganda – Ireakari Youths Defends Finance Commissioner

The recent publication by Comrade Igbalaye Enikanselu and a group of Ilaje youths, seeking to drag the name of Hon. Omowunmi Isaac, Ondo State’s Commissioner for Finance, into baseless controversy, is nothing but a deliberate attempt to distract the Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa-led administration from its commitment to the development of Ondo State. It is rather unfortunate that instead of embracing progress and good governance, some individuals have chosen to fabricate lies and resort to blackmail in a desperate bid to derail the administration’s vision.

As stakeholders in the progress of our dear state, the Irekari APC Youth Forum finds it necessary to set the record straight: Hon. Omowunmi Isaac was appointed to do a job, and she must not be persecuted for upholding accountability and transparency. It is evident that certain individuals, seeking to convert the state’s treasury into their personal purse, are frustrated by her unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility. Governance is about ensuring that public funds serve the people, not enriching a select few. The Ilaje youths and their sponsors must understand that Governor Aiyedatiwa was not elected to play “Father Christmas” with state resources.

It is worth emphasizing that Governor Aiyedatiwa remains fully in charge of his administration and has demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing the affairs of the state. His focus on good governance, infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and economic growth has been evident in his policy directions. Rather than pandering to sectional interests, the Governor has chosen to prioritize the well-being of the entire state, ensuring that every decision taken aligns with the greater good of Ondo people.

Furthermore, Hon. Omowunmi Isaac is a dedicated public servant and our sister from our federal constituency who has shown an unwavering commitment to prudent financial management. Her efforts to ensure judicious use of state resources must be commended, not condemned. The attempt to tarnish her reputation is nothing but a politically motivated smear campaign orchestrated by those who are bitter about her refusal to facilitate reckless spending. We will not allow our own to be ridiculed simply because she has chosen to serve with integrity.

We therefore call on the Ilaje youths to desist from being used as political tools by self-serving individuals who are more interested in lobbying for personal appointments and favors rather than the development of Ondo State. It is high time we rise above selfish interests and work together for the growth of our dear state. If truly they love Governor Aiyedatiwa and Ondo State, they should channel their energy into supporting policies that promote sustainable development, rather than fabricating baseless accusations.

Lastly, we urge the good people of Ondo State to disregard the misleading publication aimed at causing unnecessary confusion and disunity. The Aiyedatiwa-led government remains open to ideas and contributions that will drive Ondo State forward. Let us all join hands in building a state that we can be proud of, where governance is driven by transparency, accountability, and a genuine desire for progress. Ondo State must move forward, and no amount of blackmail or cheap propaganda will stop the wheels of development.
