The Government of Imo State through the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Johncliff Nwadike, has announced the readiness of the state to pay 50 percent fees of the students studying at the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo, Ohaji.

The Governor who was represented at the ceremony, revealed this during the university 2nd matriculation ceremony held at the institution last week.

Uzodimma advised the students to shun vices, but take their studies seriously, saying government will always do the needful to enhance quality education in the school.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Christopher Eze, advised the students to be of good behaviour as they have been enrolled and accepted into the citadel of learning.

He stated that the university is a students -centered robust boot camp for nurturing the next generation of informed leaders.

According to him, my beloved matriculants, character development is a desideratum. We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that you, our products, become the best in your fields on graduation, however we still invite you to do your part and make our collective goals achievable”.

Eze thanked the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma who he said is giving the university the full support to run effectively and qualitatively.

Earlier, in an interactive session with the parents of the students, the Vice Chancellor informed them that the essence of the meeting was to request them to join hand in helping the school by forming Parents, Students and Staff Association.

The parents were so Happy to hear such from the management of the institution as the association was formed with Dr. Chris Konkwo being elected as chairman.

Speaking on behalf of the parents and students, Konkwo commended the management of the versity for being a wonderful guidance to their students.

He further encouraged all the parents present at the occasion to partner with the management of the institution to give their children a better future.
