Government House to Spend N1billlion On Fuelling Generators, Vehicles In 2025

The Bauchi State Government House has budgeted N1billion for fuelling vehicles and generators in 2025.
This is per details on the proposed 2025 document.
Fuelling motor vehicles is expected to gulp N500million while fuelling generators is expected to take another N500 million, totalling N1billion.
Other expenditure budgeted for the government house includes N500million for refreshments and meals.
Honorarium and sitting allowance is budgeted at N250million, publicity and advertisements are budgeted at N600million, while settlement of hotel accommodation is estimated at N450million.
In a related development, a SaharaReporters review of the 2025 proposed budget in Bauchi State has shown that N368 million is budgeted to be spent on fuelling vehicles and generators by the state House of Assembly.
Per the document review, motor vehicle fuel cost is estimated at N325.1 million while fueling generators is estimated at N43.2 million.
The budgeted amount for motor vehicles estimated at N325million in 2025 is more than the N10million budgeted for same in 2024.
The N43.2 million for generators in 2025 is however less than the N63.7 million budgeted for same in 2024.
Between January to September 2024, the state’s House of Assembly spent N13.1 million on fueling vehicles and N5.5 million on fuelling generators.
The development is even as the House of Assembly plans to spend N1.4billion on travels.
The money is broken down into; local transport and training N428 million, local travel and transport(others); N500 million; international travels and transport N500million.
The state House of Assembly plans to spend N16million on books, office stationeries and computer consumables is expected to gulp N43.4million; uniforms and other clothings are budgeted at N12.3 million.
The refreshment and meals for the state House of Assembly is budgeted at N96.1million, the House of Assembly plans to spend N500 million as honorarium and sitting allowance, another N9.1 million is estimated for publicity and advertisements; medical expenses (local) is estimated at N51 million.
The House of Assembly puts its welfare packages estimate at N180 million while it plans to spend N168.8 million on subscription to professional bodies.
In a related development, the office of the Bauchi State Secretary to State Government budgeted N1 billion on international travels in 2025.
Local travels and transport is estimated at N30 million.
There have been concerns over prudence in the management of funds by state governments across the country especially in face of stated poor revenue and heavy reliance on federal allocations.
