Following the erratic power supply in Imo state, The Imo State Government through the office of his special Adviser on power and energy Comr Sam Nwaire has concluded plans for the construction of 330KV Power Line at Alaoji/Egbu/ Ihiala/Onitsha Power line.
The AFDB,TCN, NEMSA, and Imo State Government Engineers, were on site from 20th and 21st January 2021 for the final inspection to ensure the commencement of the project goes unhindered.
Before now, these high powered Engineers from Abuja were taken to Abia state where some identified challenges on the line were discovered and decisions was on how to proffer solution to the identified challenge.
All necessary procedural requirements have been considered and put in place including compensatory payment to owners of houses under the power line that have been marked for demolition.
According to the SA on power, this project, upon completion, will help in boosting the energy supply of the entire State with a direct positive impact on economic growth.
The Power line is expected to move from Alaoji to Egbu, from Egbu to Ihiala and then to Onitsha. This is but a coordinated way of ensuring that the issue of epileptic power supply becomes a thing of the past in Imo state and the entire southeast in general.
By this recent development, it has allayed the fears of Imolites about power supply and this is another step of accomplishment of the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma on power supply.
Comr Sam Nwaire (SA power and Energy) to the Governor giving his remark during the inspection stated that Imolites and business owners can now have a sigh of relief as their businesses will experience a high rate of turnover as their gains won’t be spent on fuel and Diesel purchases.
This is another giant stride from the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma in terms developmental projects.
