Gov Otti clears the air on relationship with Signature Bank
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has refuted claims that he is currently a director or board member of Signature Bank.
During the official opening of the bank’s branches in Umuahia and Aba, Otti clarified that he resigned from his position at the bank eight months ago before assuming office as Governor.
He emphasized his role as a founder and pioneer non-executive director of the bank.
Otti stated: āI am here not as a director or a founder of Signature Bank, but as the Governor of Abia State and a guest.ā
He assured that his administration is committed to fostering a business-friendly environment, inviting investors to take advantage of opportunities in Abia.
The Governor highlighted the importance of the two branches’ opening as a testament to the growing faith in the state’s economic potential.
He pledged support for businesses and reiterated the state’s openness to various investments.
Abia State, under Otti’s leadership, aims to be a strategic investment zone, attracting both local and foreign investors.
Otti promised that the government would actively engage in partnerships with businesses, emphasizing the commitment to providing a conducive environment for all enterprises to flourish.
Responding, the Chairman of the Board of Signature Bank, Dr. Mutiu Summonu, represented by Mazi Uzoma Nwankwo, pledged the bank’s active participation in Governor Otti’s vision to transform Abia into one of the leading states in Nigeria.
