Fuel Tanker Crashes Into Port Harcourt Mall, Causes Significant Damage
A petrol tanker carrying petroleum products collided with the Port Harcourt Mall, commonly known as Spar, causing extensive damage to the mall’s perimeter fence. The incident, which took place yesterday around 8 p.m., was reported early this morning by popular Port Harcourt street journalist Alwell Ene. According to Alwell, who streamed the aftermath in a live video on his Facebook page, no casualties were recorded, and the damage was limited to the fence. He, however, expressed concerns over the recklessness of drivers navigating the roundabout and urged the government to implement stricter regulations for drivers operating within the city.
In a related development, Rivers State has witnessed three separate fire incidents in Port Harcourt recently, leading to casualties.
The most severe of these incidents occurred in Eleme, where a tragic fire outbreak claimed the lives of many people and resulted in the destruction of multiple properties.
