Again, the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on security agencies to probe the masterminds of the bombing of the Rivers State House of Assembly complex on October 29, 2023.

APC’s Rivers State Chairman, Sir Tony Okocha, in a statement Tuesday in Abuja noted that the party’s position on the matter has been vindicated following the public revelation made by Dr. George Nwaeke, the former Head of Service in Rivers State on how the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara allegedly initiated and authored the bombing of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

APC contended that as the number 3 man in the State, Nwaeke’s account on the bombing of the Rivers State House of Assembly complex cannot be hearsay since it was an eyewitness account.

Nwaeke had claimed that the Governor directed his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, to carry out the attack on the Assembly complex to prevent his impeachment by lawmakers aligned with Minister Nyesom Wike.

Nwaeke even went as far as to claim how he witnessed a cash handover to Edison Ehie for the purpose of the attack.

APC stressed that it remains the only visible and viable opposition political party that has cemented the love for the party in the heart of well meaning Rivers people as the voice of the voiceless, and the hope for a better Rivers State.

The party argued that the revelations made by Nwaeke have further positioned her as a political party with a high level of integrity, and the hope of Rivers people for a viable alternative to produce the Governor of Rivers State in 2027.

Calling on relevant Security Agencies will be professional enough to get at the root cause of this whole matter, and make such public, the party stated that the verbal attacks staged against the resigned HoS will not deter it from playing the role of an opposition political party to function as a watchdog of the society.
