Five Police Officers Killed, 11 Others Injured In Road Accident
Five police personnel were killed, while 11 others sustained injuries in a ghastly motor accident along the Zaria-Kano Road on Tuesday.
It was learnt that the accident happened at Karfi village in the Kura Local Government Area of Kano in the early hours of Tuesday.
The vehicle in which the police officers were travelling was said to had a head-on collision with a trailer in the village.
SP Abdullahi Haruna, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident to The PUNCH, said the accident happened while the officers were returning to Kano from an official assignment.
He stated that the injured officers were receiving medical treatment in a Kano hospital.
“The accident occurred at Karfi, a few kilometres to Kano and five of the officers died as a result of the accident while 11 others sustained injuries,” he said.
The injured police personnel were taken to Murtala Mohammad Specialist Hospital.
