Kaduna Finance, Internal Security Commissioners, SUBEB Boss Charged With False Asset Declarations, Date Set For Arraignment
The charges, brought by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), allege false asset declarations made by the officials.
Kaduna State’s Commissioner for Internal Security, Samuel Peter; Finance Commissioner, Shizzer Bada; and the Chairperson of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Tijjani Abdullahi, are set to be arraigned on November 7.
The charges, brought by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), allege false asset declarations made by the officials.
This was made known in a statement released by the CCB, which has urged the accused to step aside from their positions pending the outcome of a motion filed on October 21.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the order was issued in response to an ex parte application filed by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) concerning allegations of violations of the CCB and Tribunal Act, CAP Cl LYN 2004.
According to the statement, the bureau acted after receiving a petition against several senior officials in the Kaduna government, citing various infractions of the Code of Conduct for public officers.
The statement also noted that after conducting thorough investigations, the CCB sought the tribunal’s assistance to commence trials.
