FG To Train 200,000 Nigerian Youths, Graduates
The Federal Government is set to train over 200,000 Nigeria youth through skills acquisition funds by partnering with private skills trainers to reduce unemployment in the country.
Director In-charge of Technology and Science Education department of the federal ministry of education, Adenike Olodo disclosed this at a one day national workshop on promoting Nigerian youth employment through skills acquisition organized by the World in Abuja, on Wednesday.
Olodo who was represented by deputy director, technical education department, Stella Uhuegbu explained that, the initiative is aimed at eradicating unemployment among Nigerian youths through strategic training approach.
She stressed the need to identify the straits and skill levels in the six geopolitical zones focusing on skills needs and demand.
The deputy director charged all relevant stakeholders to help in identifying opportunity for growth, forge valuable partnership, and chart a course towards a more inclusive and prosperous society
Other stakeholders in the education sector present at the workshop, called for more training of youths and Nigerian graduates in various skills to aid in reducing unemployment across the country.
They also stressed the need to collaborate with sector skills council, for proper authentication of certificate after training.
