Father discovers love letter in his 8-year-old child’s bag, seeks advice
A Nigerian father has sought advice online after discovering a love letter in the school bag of his young child, who is in a basic class.
In a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, the concerned father anonymously reached out to a popular social security influencer, seeking guidance on how to handle the situation.
He wrote:
“Agba, good morning. I came home last night, and my wife told me she found this in my son’s school bag. I don’t even know how to handle it. Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated. He will be 8 years old in May.”
“I don’t know if I should scold him, talk to him, or scare him. I just need something that will stick with him as he grows. Please help, sir.”
The letter found in the child’s bag read:
“Hello pretty, you’re truly the one for me. My day would not be complete without you. You’re my smile, my tears, my laughter—my heart, my soul, my love.”
“You’re my everything. I never want to be without you. I want to grow old with you. I love you so much. Reply back.”
“From your friend, Ayo. Thanks for reading. I like you. Do you like me? Yes or No?”
As the post gained traction online, concerned individuals flooded the comment section, sharing their opinions on how the father should handle the situation.
See some reactions below:
@MorningAlinda: “Our p. 2 teacher warned us that writing love letters to our fellows causes AIDS🤣🤣🤣🤣 and we all grew up with fear until we learnt Abt the causes of AIDS in P. 6. It was a way of keeping us from the drama of love letters.”
@AdeshinaAdedam5: “I received something like this when I was 12(Jss2) from a friend that lived in our neighborhood and that made me disliked the boy somehow, since that day, he always hid his face from wherever I was 😂 it was so embarrassing. Good morning sir.”
@Chuks832855191: “All the bitter people won’t see this now and commend how well you handled this, though they are learning. Good morning agba.”
@samoblah: “The laughing part by the girl is very disastrous, something no boy wants to witness. Good morning.”
