Fake Gynecologist Exposed In Abia As Hospital’s CMD Faces Trial For Forgery, Impersonation
Miriam Ugochi Emenike, who falsely claimed to be a gynecologist at Echoes of God’s Mercy & Grace Mission Specialist Hospital in Umuahia, has been exposed as an impostor.
Investigations revealed she presented fake medical credentials from Imo State University (IMSU) and lacked a valid medical license.
Her alleged incompetence reportedly led to a miscarriage and a patient’s death, raising alarm among medical staff. Surprisingly, instead of being dismissed, she was promoted to Chief Medical Director (CMD), triggering a mass resignation from doctors.
Following a petition, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) confirmed that Emenike was not a registered practitioner. She has since been charged with forgery and impersonation, with her case now before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
