EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS – Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
TEXT:
Ephesians 3:20 KJV
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
*MESSAGE*
☆☆☆ This particular verse of the bible is very deep. One needs the help of the Holy Spirit to really understand it.
☆☆☆ Beloved, there is an amount of power deposited in every man.
☆☆☆ The power to ask and receive that which we ask for in faith. Read Mark 11:23-24.
☆☆☆ God is saying further, in our main bible verse for today, that he won’t just do only what you ask for in prayers but he will surely and equally do much more abundantly than what you are thinking.
☆☆☆ In essence, God is saying that he will even perform those thoughts of yours which you haven’t declared in words on the altar of prayers.
☆☆☆ The danger here however, is that, if your thoughts are wrong or negative, that’s what God will equally do, even much more abundantly.
☆☆☆ Beloved, at every point in time, irrespective of your challenges; think positively.
☆☆☆ Think success, think breakthrough, think promotion, think divine healing, etc.
☆☆☆ God will surely exceed your expectations and surprise you pleasantly.
☆☆☆ Let me quickly prepare our mind here that God can exceed our expectations in all ways.
☆☆☆ Even your thoughts, those things that are running through your mind, God can exceed them.
☆☆☆ Also note that if you allow negativity to fill your mind, God will surely do exceedingly and abundantly.
☆☆☆ The holy spirit wants us to note and consider the following points:
*1. You can succeed where you once failed.*
☆☆☆ God can step into someone’s life such that he will begin to prosper and succeed where he has failed in the past.
☆☆☆ That was the experience of Peter in Luke 5:1-7.
☆☆☆ Peter toiled all night and caught nothing but when Jesus stepped in, he encountered multitude of fishes. God gave him an exceeding and abundantly above his expectations.
*2. You can reap where you have not laboured.*
☆☆☆ The bible says👇
“I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours” – John 4:38.
☆☆☆ This is not to encourage laziness. Beloved, hard labour doesn’t equate wealth. If it were to be so, truck pushers would have been multi millionaires.
☆☆☆ It is only God who gives power to make wealth. For the bible again says👇
“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” – Deuteronomy 8:18.
*3. Delay may occur but it is never a denial.*
☆☆☆ God may delay a miracle for a purpose but that delay is never a denial.
☆☆☆ It doesn’t how long the promise of God may tarry, it will surely become manifest.
☆☆☆ Once God has spoken, it is settled. Every word that goes out of the mouth of God must fulfil the purpose for which it is sent. Read Isaiah 55:11.
☆☆☆ All that is required of every child of God is to wait for the manifestation of that promise. Even though it tarries, it will surely come to pass.
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” – Habakkuk 2:3.
*4. The gift of waiting is always worth the waiting.*
☆☆☆ Hannah waited for years and was mocked. However, when her Samuel was born, God used that gift (Samuel) to silence all her mockers.
☆☆☆ Samuel became a king maker. God made him to be superior to all those children born ahead of him.
☆☆☆ Once you wait on God beloved, he will surely do exceeding abundantly above your expectations.
*5. God will even give you additional blessings.*
☆☆☆ Exceeding abundantly simply means getting above what you are qualified for.
☆☆☆ Beloved, in 1 Samuel 16:1-12, nobody considered David qualified to be king. Even his own father didn’t consider him qualified.
☆☆☆ That was why he wasn’t invited when Samuel came to anoint the king.
☆☆☆ However, because David was the choice of God; the prophet of God, Samuel, insisted that David must be invited. David was brought from the wilderness and anointed king over Israel.
*6. Your thoughts will produce your getting.*
☆☆☆ This is serious. God said he will do even beyond your thoughts
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think..” – Ephesians 3:20.
☆☆☆ This means that if you allow negative thoughts to rule your heart, exactly and above that God will surely do for you.
☆☆☆ That was why the bible warns: As he thinketh in his heart so he is.
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee” – Proverbs 23:7.
*7. Be positive in your thinking.*
☆☆☆ Challenges will surely come beloved but don’t give up, be positive, even in your thinking.
☆☆☆ If you notice any negative trends in your family, cut yourself away from it. Don’t allow in your heart, the thoughts that what happened to your parents or siblings will also happen to you.
☆☆☆ Most times, some people will be repeating negative pronouncements over their lives.
☆☆☆ This is because of the negative thoughts they have allowed to fill their mind.
☆☆☆ Remember beloved that your confession is your possession.
“Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you” – Numbers 14:28.
*PRAYERS*
1. Father, please delete from my life whatsoever you have not created in me.
2. Oh God my father, let your purpose be fulfilled in my life.
3. Oh God my creator, please turn my challenges to become the instrument of my praises.
4. Lift me up Lord from the pit where the wickedness of men has caged me.
5. Father, turn every delay in my life to delight.
6. My father, my father, turn all my disappointment to divine appointment in Jesus name.
7. Guide my feet Lord away from the path of ungodly men.
8. Father, don’t let me depart this world without making positive imparts.
9. In the name of Jesus, the battle that stopped my parents will not stop me.
10. Where others have failed, shall become my stepping stone to greatness.
*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS*
1. On this note I decree, the Lord shall exceed your expectations in Jesus name.
2. I decree and declare, you shall be a candidate of God’s mercy in Jesus name.
3. The God of heaven shall strengthen you on every side, and in any area where you are weak in Jesus name.
4. Once again I decree and declare, Jehovah Rapha, our healer, shall heal your wounds in Jesus name.
5. The mercy of God shall connect you, this day, with your assigned divine helpers in Jesus name.
6. That same mercy of God shall release to you that which your connection cannot gift you in Jesus name.
7. The mercy of God shall terminate struggles out of your life and you will not lack in the midst of plenty in Jesus name.
8. May you not be in the kitchen and yet suffer hunger in Jesus name.
9. God shall replace your labour with favour in Jesus name.
10. The Lord shall comfort you on every side wherever you are troubled in Jesus name.
11. He will deliver you from the hands of those who are oppressing you in Jesus name.
12. Henceforth, your testimony shall be that the Lord is faithful.
13. Even what you didn’t remember to ask for on the altar of prayers, the mercy of God shall release to you, much more abundantly in Jesus name.
14. That which is troubling your mind right now, shall become a testimony from today in Jesus name.
15. These and many more promises of God, shall find fulfillment in your life from today in Jesus name.
