This appointment highlights ANAN’s commitment to promoting excellence and integrity in the accounting profession and aims to inspire young professionals across Nigeria.

Fatima’s new role follows her recent inauguration as the Coordinator of the Katsina State chapter of the Professional Women Accountants in Nigeria (PROWAN), along with other North-West zone executives of PROWAN.

At a dinner held in honor of the newly appointed officials, ANAN’s National President, James Neminebor, announced Fatima Buhari’s appointment.

He encouraged the executives to focus on service and dedication to ANAN’s goals within their respective states.

Neminebor also thanked the Katsina State Government for its support of ANAN, underscoring the value of professional accounting services for effective financial management across sectors.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Buhari, as the association’s inaugural ambassador, celebrated the establishment of the PROWAN chapter as a significant milestone for women in Northern Nigeria’s accounting field.

“This milestone is not just a celebration of achievements, but a testament to the resilience, dedication, and professionalism of women accountants across this region and the nation at large,” she said.

She further stated that this new initiative focuses on amplifying women’s voices in a field traditionally dominated by men, while also creating opportunities for aspiring female accountants in the North-West zone.

The state governor, Umaru Radda, who was represented by his deputy, Faruq Jobe, reiterated the state government’s dedication to supporting ANAN.

He highlighted the government’s ongoing partnership with the organization to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance in the state.
