Ex-LG chairman supports 100 UTME students with N100,000 each
In a bid to support education and alleviate the financial burden on students, the former Executive Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Area, Hon. Nasara Rabo has awarded N100,000 each to 100 JAMB-registered students to assist with their tuition fees.
The financial aid will be disbursed through his foundation, “Beyond Thought,” as part of his ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and educational development.
Arewa PUNCH recalls that the foundation had earlier sponsored the JAMB registration of over 100 students.
In a statement made available to journalists in Kaduna on Sunday, Hon. Rabo emphasised that the initiative was borne out of his strong belief in the transformative power of education.
“Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and ensuring a brighter future for our youth. No student should have to drop out due to financial constraints. Through the ‘Beyond Thought Foundation’, we are determined to provide continuous support to students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds,” he stated.
He continued, since its inception, the ‘Beyond Thought Foundation’ has provided scholarships to over 500 students and trained numerous youths in entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to become self-reliant.
Rabo assured that the foundation would continue expanding its reach, pledging more scholarships, and capacity-building initiatives to uplift students and the youth in Kaduna State.
Some of the beneficiaries of the financial support expressed deep appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and life-changing.
A beneficiary, Abba Yakubu from Jere-South, also expressed deep appreciation for the intervention, saying “it is the much needed succour at a time as this when all hope was almost lost.
“This support has restored our hope. Hon. Nasara Rabo has truly shown that he cares about the future of young people.”
Another recipient, Assumpta Akuso, simply expressed gratitude thus: “This financial aid has lifted a huge burden off our family, and we can now focus on our studies without worrying about tuition fees.
“We were on the verge of deferring our studies due to a lack of funds, but this support has restored our hope. Hon. Nasara Rabo has truly shown that he cares about the future of young people,” an obviously elated Assumpta hailed.
Similarly, not a few stakeholders have commended the ex-council chairman’s philanthropic gesture, urging other well-meaning individuals to emulate his commitment to education.
“Hon. Rabo has always been a champion of education. His leadership style reflects his dedication to the development of our youth, and this scholarship scheme is proof of his unwavering commitment,” a community leader remarked.
