ESE-AKOKO LEADERS THANK GOV. AIYEDATIWA FOR MASSIVE REHABILITATION OF IRUN-ESE-AFIN LINK ROADS.
…AIYEDATIWA,OBANLA,SSA Has Broken Three Decade Jinx On Ese-Afin Road.. .
History was made today as Ese-Akoko becomes the first beneficiary of dividend of the 1st Community Engagement Exercise held across Ondo North initiated by Honourable Bode Obanla,Senior Special Assistant, SSA on Community Engagement to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa recently.
The over 30years Jinx to rehabilitate the deplorable Ese- Afin Road was also broken today by Aiyedatiwa and Obanla as confirmed by testimonies from the people of the community.
The pledge Obanla made to Leaders and People of Ese-Akoko,a Community in Akoko North West Local Government (now Irun/Ogbagi LCDA) during the engagement exercise on August 15th,2024 has become a reality.
As Caterpillars and Graders from Akoko North West Local Government, ANWLG roars to commence the massive rehabilitation of the 5.5kilometer road linking Ese with Irun and Afin the people tropped out to chanting victory songs for Aiyedatiwa.
The Community Leaders in their different groups were showering prayers in torrent on Aiyedatiwa and Obanla for fulfilling their promised to repair the deplorable roads making the town unaccessible over the years.
Obanla and his Team from the Office of Senior Special Assistance on Community Engagement, OSSACE on Friday were welcome with fanfare by the Ese Community Leaders during an inspection tour of the roads.
The respective leaders of Ese joined by Afin Community while speaking to Journalists pay glowing tributes to both Aiyedatiwa and Obanla for their prompt positive response to their yearnings.
The Ese/Afin Leaders could not hide their joy saying,” they were surprise about the quick intervention of Gov. Aiyedatiwa through Obanla ‘s efforts.
The Leaders echoed to the Journalists that, “when Obanla and his Team visited our community on August 15th for the engagement exercise we thought it was just another political charade, propaganda and jamboree”.
Saying,”we are surprise today that our highly deplorable road hindering access to our towns,markets and farm settlements abandoned by successful govt. giving our people harrowing experiences is now undergoing a massive attention.
Obanla in his response reassured the people of Ese and other Akoko Communities that they will soon feel the difference through various impactful projets and programs from Aiyedatiwas government.
He said, it did not take him much time to convinced Gov. Aiyedatiwa with pictorial evidences over the plight of the people of Ese-Akoo due to the deplorable state of the link road.
The SSA who was satisfied with the level of progress achieved so far with the rehabilitation thank the governor for making that pledge made during the engagement to become a reality renewing the loss hope of the masses over the decades.
He admonished the leaders of Ese that they should do all they could to give Aiyedatiwa block votes so they can enjoy more dividends of democracy and the provision of others basic amenities to them.
One of the most revered Politician from Ese/Afin, Honourable Demola Ijabiyi who led the Community Leaders to receive Obanla and his Team thank Aiyedatiwa for his prompt response to the yearning of the people.
Ijabiyi said that he was the one who facilitate the asphalt layed on the Irun-Ese-Afin Link road almost forty year ago while serving as a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, ODHA.
“And ever since then we have made several efforts to repair the road and also attract several government attention to no avail.
He thanked Aiyedatiwa for his thoughtfulness in creating the office of SSA on Community Engagement and appointing Obanla who has made so much impact within the short time.
Ijabiyi dwell on the negative effects the deplorable road has had on the community that they had to resort to motorbike and bicycle or trek as a means of getting to their farms or accessing other neighbouring communities.
Ijabiyi concluded that, “Aiyedatiwa and Obanla has broke the unbroken jinx and I assure Aiyedatiwa that our people will return this gesture with overwhelming vote come 16th November, 2024”.
The Chairman of Irun/ Ogbagi LCDA, Hon. Mohamned Oladele Taofik who received Obanla and OSSACE Team at the sight could not hide his joy.
Hon.Mohammed expressed his appreciation of the Irun/Ogbagi LCDA to the governor for fulfilling the promise Obanla made to the people.
He equally used the occasion to reaffirmed the commitment of the people of Irun/Ogbagi LCDA to deliver a wide margin votes for the APC guber candidates.
The bad State of the road,Hon.Mohammed said has retarded the socio-economic growth of his people and that this rehabilitation will bring back a renewed hope.
Speaking on behalf of the Ese Community, Hon.Peter Aliu,former Deputy Leader of the House, ANWLG also thanked the governor profusely for alleviating the suffering impacted on the people due to the deplorable road.
The Site Engineer cum Director of Work at Irun/Ogbagi LCDA, Engr. Olatunji Kolawole in collaboration with Hon.Dauda Owolabi were making frantic efforts for the rehabilitation to be completed in due curse and achieved the desired goal.
