*Ebonyi Ambassadors Movement (EBAM) a Non- governmental organisation advancing the welfare of Ebonyians has Congratulated Professor Nnenna Oti on her emergence as the 8th substantive Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, FUTO, Owerri.*
In it’s congratulatory message, Ebonyi Ambassadors Movement through its President National, Amb Timothy Nwachukwu SAL eulogised Prof. (Mrs) Nnenna Nnannaya Oti, a Professor of Soil Science and Environmental Conservation, who until her emergence as the Vice Chancellor served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, a two-time Dean of Post-Graduate School, a three-time Head of Department of Soil Science and Technology in the School of Agricultural and Agriculture Technology (SAAT) and the immediate past chairman, Gender Policy Unit for emerging outstandingly exceptional among Seven candidates who were earmarked for the top notch position.
Ebonyi Ambassadors lauded the distinguished professor who has over 65 academic papers, 40 seminar and workshop papers, edited a handbook, 50 public lectures and over 10 technical reports for the Federal government of Nigeria.
Amb Nwachukwu stated that the emergence of Prof. Oti is a boost to the image of Ebonyi State as the salt of Nigeria without which the nation will be tasteless. He noted that her emergence will serve as an encouragement to the girl child as well as a challenge to parents to pay more and close attention to the Education of their female children.
The Ebonyi State born professor and incoming Vice Chancellor has over 34yrs in academics, teaching research and administration in the Nigerian university system with international exposure, while also working as a consultant to government and private sector and various times in diverse capacities ranging from TETFund, Anambra Imo River Basin Development Authority, National Biotechnology Development Agency etc.
