Eid- el-Fitr  : Minister of state Defence, Matawalle felicitates President Tinubu, Muslims

As Muslims across Nigeria and the world celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the Minister of State Defence, Bello Matawalle has extended warm greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and all Muslim faithful.

In a heartfelt message, Matawalle expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting believers the strength and perseverance to complete the sacred month of fasting, prayer and reflection. He emphasized the significance of Ramadan as a period of spiritual renewal, self-discipline and devotion to faith, urging Nigerians to uphold the virtues of peace, unity, and compassion exemplified during the holy month.

“On this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, I extend my warmest congratulations to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Muslims across Nigeria and beyond. The month of Ramadan has been a time of self-discipline, reflection and renewed faith and I pray that the blessings and lessons of this period continue to guide us in our individual and collective pursuits,” the Minister stated.

He further encouraged citizens to embrace the spirit of unity and togetherness, emphasizing the need for religious tolerance, national cohesion and unwavering patriotism in building a stronger Nigeria. He also called on Nigerians to continue supporting the government’s efforts in fostering peace and security, highlighting the role of prayer and cooperation in overcoming national challenges.

“As we celebrate this joyous occasion, let us remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering harmony and peaceful coexistence. The strength of our nation lies in our unity and we must all work together to build a country where peace, prosperity and security prevail,” Matawalle added.

Eid-el-Fitr, often referred to as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is a significant Islamic celebration that marks the conclusion of Ramadan. It is a time of gratitude, charity and communal gatherings, with Muslims worldwide offering special prayers and extending acts of kindness to the less privileged.

The Minister’s message aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s call for unity and resilience, reinforcing the importance of faith, love and national progress. He concluded his statement by praying for continued peace, prosperity and divine blessings for the nation and its people.
