Education Commissioner Okorondu Express Satisfaction over peaceful conduct of WASSCE in Imo.

The Imo state Commissioner for education, Prof. Sylvester Okorondu yesterday expressed satisfaction at the peaceful conduct of this year’s on going West Africa senior Secondary Certificate Examination in the state.

Okorondu, stated this while monitoring English Language Examination in some selected schools in Owerri Municipal and stated with confidence that this years examination will produce a better result than the Previous ones.

Going further, he commended the principals and the teachers in the schools visited on their efforts in ensuring a conducive and calmly examination environment devoid of malpractice for their own future in order to avoid their result being cancelled or withheld by WAEC authorities and wished them well in the remaining examination.

The Principal of government college Owerri, Rev. Jamike Eke on behalf of other principals of various schools visited assured the Honourable Commissioner that their students will come out in flying colours having prepared them well for the examination and that they have Zero tolerance for examination malpractice as such will not encourage their students to cheat or indulge in examination malpractice.

Concluding his speech, the clergy man thanked the Commissioner and his team for the visit and his word of encouragement to the students which he said is a moral booster to the students and promised to do their best as teachers to ensure Imo state will continue to be a pride in education.

Some of the schools visited includes Government Secondary school, Girls Secondary School Ikenegbu, Imo Girls School , Emmanuel college, Owerri City Schools, Methodist High School Ikenegbu and Baptism High School all in Owerri Municipal.

The highlight of the visit was a brief report on the conduct of the examination and signing of WAEC visitors form by the Commissioner to register his presence during the examination.
