Speaking on what inspired him to make the attempt, he told Sunday Scoop in an interview, “Music is an inspiration for me and playing to entertain people gives me joy. This has been my daily activity for almost a decade.

“So, I thought if I can actually apply for Guinness World Records, it wouldn’t be a bad idea. The current title holder is from Ireland and his name is Norbert Selmaj. He played for 200 hours. He has held this title for nine years now since November 2014. I will be playing for 500 hours to set a new record. A big shout out to DJ Obi, Hilda Baci, Kaffy and everyone who has attempted the Guinness World Records. They are my inspiration.”

Speaking on how he had prepared physically and mentally for the marathon DJ session, Chukwuma said, “I prepared by going for long walks, working out in the gym; I had to stop eating some kinds of food, drink water, eat fruits and apply everything necessary to build my strength.

“To break the current record, I will have a 20-minute break every four hours, and a two-hour break every 24 hours. It’s left to me how I will manage the time. We have a medical team, an ambulance on standby, and there is security around too.”
