TEXT:
1 Samuel 2:8 KJV
“He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them”.

*MESSAGE:*
☆☆☆ Divine means from above, God is involved.
☆☆☆ To be lifted is to go up higher.
☆☆☆ Beloved, only the fellow who is higher than you can lift you up.
☆☆☆ Those who are under you or lower than you can only succeed in bringing you down.
☆☆☆ Please don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying you should look down on anyone. No, not at all.
☆☆☆ The point I’m trying to make is that the fellow who is in the valley needs help, if he wants to help anyone, he will only succeed in bringing down the fellow to his level.
☆☆☆ However, your junior or subordinate may have a particular knowledge of something that you don’t have which can help your lifting. In that case, he is above you and he can help.
☆☆☆ Somebody who knows somebody that knows somebody who can help you, is above you.
☆☆☆ For example, the young maid of Naaman knew the king who could help him to wipe away his leprosy. Read 2 Kings 5:2-3.

☆☆☆ However, man is limited. No man can lift up another man beyond his own reach. The level a man can lift you up depends on his own height.
☆☆☆ Our God is beyond limits, nothing is impossible for him to do. Read Jeremiah 32:27.
☆☆☆ No man can decide for God because he’s the Almighty. God does whatsoever he pleases.

✓✓ Now, let’s look at a few examples of those who enjoyed divine lifting in the bible.

1.*David*

☆☆☆ He was not considered qualified to be king by his own father but God lifted him up from the bush to the palace to become the king.

“And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither” – 1 Samuel 16:11.

2. *Jabez*

☆☆☆ His own mother didn’t think anything good could come out of his Nazareth. She therefore named him Jabez, meaning sorrow.
☆☆☆ God lifted him up from the realm of sorrow to become a bundle of joy. Read 1 Chronicles 4:9-10.

3. *Mordecai*

☆☆☆ He was just a mere slave who found himself in captivity. A mere gateman at that.
☆☆☆ Haman looked at him one day and said, “I’m not always happy anytime I see this slave boy sitting at the gate”.
☆☆☆ Look at how the bible recorded it:

“Yet all of this does not satisfy me as long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate” – Esther 5:13 AMP

☆☆☆ Beloved, are you aware that there are some people who are not happy that you still have something to eat!!
☆☆☆ Some are not even happy that you are alive.

4. *Joseph*

☆☆☆ Joseph was a very familiar bible personality.
☆☆☆ His brethren never thought that anything good could come out of him.
☆☆☆ They sold him into slavery thinking that would be the end of his dreams but they were wrong. They only succeeded in accelerating the fulfillment of those dreams.
☆☆☆ By the time God lifted up Joseph, repackaged his life and reintroduced him to his brethren; they had bowed down before him again and again before they could recognize him to be Joseph.

“And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph’s brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth” – Genesis 42:6.

✓✓ I pray for you today, may the Lord repackage your life and show case you for his glory in Jesus name.

5. *Esther*

☆☆☆ Esther was just an ordinary slave girl in Babylon.
☆☆☆ God decided to step Vashti down so that Esther could be lifted.
☆☆☆ Nobody thought that Esther could withstand any of those maidens she contested with. But because the favour of God was upon her, she was lifted above all others.

“Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her”.
[16] “So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign”.
[17] “And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti” – Esther 2:15-17.

*Those who can enjoy divine lifting* 👇

1. *Worshippers and lovers of God,* e.g David.

☆☆☆ David was so passionate in worshipping God that he became a man after the heart of God.

“And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will” – Acts 13:22.

2. *Those who can give sacrificially to God,* e.g Solomon.

☆☆☆ Solomon provoked God, through sacrificial giving, such that he got an open cheque from God.

“And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar”.
[5] “In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee” – 1 Kings 3:4-5.

☆☆☆ Another sacrificial giver was David. David sent an inspiring message to anyone who intends to give sacrificially to God.👇

“And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver” – 2 Samuel 24:24.

3. *The poor or the beggar who lacks helpers.*

☆☆☆ Those who have been abandoned and neglected by men.
☆☆☆ Those who have been written off by God as nobody:

“He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them”- 1 Samuel 2:8.

4. *Those who God has chosen for his mercy.*

☆☆☆ For God himself said 👇

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion”.
[16] “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy” – Romans 9:15-16.

5. *Those chosen by divine appointment.*

☆☆☆ Such people will just miraculously encounter God.
☆☆☆ God will just decide to cross their path.
☆☆☆ A very typical example was recorded in Luke 7:11-15.
☆☆☆ You can also read the encounter of blind Bartimæus in Mark 10:46-52.

*PRAYERS*
Father, make me a candidate for your lifting in Jesus name.
Please Lord, uproot from my life anything that can hinder my lifting.
Where men have written me off, oh God my father, let your everlasting hand lift me up.
