According to him, As Nigerians commemorate this 12th day of June as ‘Democracy Day’, it is indeed memorable and an eventful period it is in the history of our existence as a people, nation and a democratic independent entity.

Undoubtedly, 25 years of an uninterrupted Civil Rule and most lengthy democracy to Nigerians is a long way to call. This indeed calls for celebration that we could still stand as a people, a nation and a voice, despite all odds and challenges over the past two decades and the ravaging rate of inflation of foods and other commodities.

No matter how it appeared to us as individuals and a people, the fact is that our Democracy has been sustained, though with opened rooms for further improvement, we must also commend our heroes for their contributions towards achieving democratization in Nigeria.

As we celebrate, I want to call on the Government from head to bottom, to as a matter of Urgency find a lasting solution to rate of inflation of food and other commodities, we cannot be celebrating while numbers of our people are dieing of hunger, from our local government, state and the federal, there is need to give Nigerians relief, many are in pain looking for succour from Government, hence there is urgent need for proper control of ravaging high price of foods.

Though, I strongly believe that the years to come will be filled with positivism, success stories, giant strides of achievements and unmatched synergy towards Unity, development of sound democratic values and ultimately developing our dear country, Nigeria.

Congratulations to Nigerians, happy Democray Day, God bless Nigeria, Chief Adekunle said.
