Davido to release fifth studio album ‘5ive’ in 2025
Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially announced that his fifth studio album, 5ive, will be released on March 14, 2025.
The announcement was made on Saturday via a pre-save link shared across his social media platforms. The post read, “5ive is scheduled to be released on March 14.”
This album marks a significant milestone in Davido’s career, following the success of his previous projects, A Better Time (2020) and Timeless (2023).
The anticipation for 5ive has been heightened by the release of two singles from the album in 2024: “Awuke” featuring YG Marley and “Funds.”
The latter incorporates a sample of Brenda Fassie’s 1997 classic “Vuli Ndlela,” blending traditional African influences with modern Afrobeat elements.
In December, the 32-year-old singer expressed his excitement about the upcoming project, describing 5ive as a reflection of his journey and a deeply personal body of work. “My people. The journey continues in 2025 with my new album 5IVE. This is straight from the heart — my story, my truth, and my growth,” he said.
Davido, born David Adeleke, rose to prominence in 2012 with the hit single “Dami Duro” from his debut album Omo Baba Olowo. Since then, he has released several critically acclaimed albums, including A Good Time (2019) and A Better Time (2020).
In addition to his solo career, Davido is the founder of DMW (Davido Music Worldwide), a record label established in 2016 that has nurtured numerous music talents. With an impressive array of awards and a reputation as one of Africa’s top artists, Davido continues to push boundaries in the global music scene.
