Cristiano Ronaldo: Al Nassr superstar pushes club to break Guardiola’s heart with blockbuster signing
Al Nassr are aiming to become one of the best clubs in the world by pairing Cristiano Ronaldo with Manchester City’s superstar.
Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly driving Al-Nassr’s ambitious pursuit of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.
De Bruyne’s contract with City expires at the end of the season, with contract renewal talks yet to take place.
The 33-year-old is currently the Premier League’s highest-paid player, and renegotiating his contract at City will almost certainly mean a reduced wage package.
However, a move away, possibly to the Saudi Pro League could provide a huge financial windfall, one the Belgian midfielder has admitted to being open to.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo is “actively encouraging” the oil-rich club to lure De Bruyne to Saudi Arabia with a staggering contract offer of 1 million pounds per week. This would double his current City salary.

The prospect of such a lucrative deal might be too enticing for the 33-year-old De Bruyne to resist, and for Al Nassr, securing De Bruyne would bring the quality needed to leap from runners-up to Saudi Pro League champions.
City boss has spoken of his desire to keep the mercurial Belgian, but with injuries becoming more frequent, there remains the lingering feeling that this could be his last year at the Etihad.
