Crisis Averted: Ondo State House of Assembly Takes Swift Action to Rescue Owena-Akure Road.
Today, Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ondo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the House Committee on Works, alongside committee members; Hon. Christopher Ayebusiwa and Hon Babatunde Fasonu
conducted an inspection visit to the deteriorating section of Owena-Akure road. Earlier in the day, a truck had fallen, and another became stuck due to a recently failed portion of the road.
The committee’s visit was aimed at assessing the extent of the damage and finding solutions to address the urgent issues faced by road users in the area.
In response to the visit, the Honorable Commissioner of Works has been contacted, he has committed to mobilizing new machinery to the site this weekend. The Commissioner also assured Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, Chairman of the House Committee on Works, that the rehabilitation, including necessary drainage work, upto asphalt level along the long stretch of the failed road, will be completed within the next three weeks.
Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju expressed his commitment to ensuring the timely and efficient resolution of the road’s problems, emphasizing the importance of well-maintained infrastructure for the prosperity of the community.
The Ondo State House of Assembly and the Committee on Works remain dedicated to improving the state’s infrastructure and the well-being of its residents.
