The state Nurtw chairman, Jacob Adebo, a.k.a Idajo said the dusk to dawn curfew came on the heels of uncontrollable movement of persons at night into the state with antendant security implications during this Covid 19 period.

Adebo explained that he had summoned the leadership of branches to emphasize to them the reason for strict adherence.

He commended efforts of the state government in Containing Convid 19, promising to mobilise all drivers to provide necessary supports.

Adebo said the Union has also set up a special patrol to complement government’s effort on compliance.

“We have set up a special patrol because our Unions across states respect one another. Any branch chairman who allows his members to flout the curfew will not find it funny because we are serious about this decision.

I am however confident that our members will comply.”

He however appealed that efforts should be geared towards tackling the influx of people into the state through the waterways.

Adebo raised concerns about the conduct of policemen that will enforce the curfew stressed the need for professionalism on their part.
