Today 22nd of march 2021, will remain ever green in the rescue mission families , as the former Governor of Imo state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha alongside others, have been granted bail by the Magistrate Court Owerri located along Orlu road.
The Court presided over by the Chief Magistrate Court 4, D. U Adikaibe, Owerri in Imo state, granted the five million naira bail bond on each of the accused persons on the Bases that, bail is a right of every individual and the offence committed is a bailable action.
Other condition as announced by the Chief Magistrate was that each of the accused persons would provide a prominent traditional ruler to sign as their shortees.
Prof. Nnamdi Obiareri, a former Commissioner for Information under Rochas Okorocha, in an interview, said that bail, by constitution, was everybody’s right pending the gravity of the offence.
The Chief Magistrate, according to him, had studied the lightness of the case and granted them bail without further delay, which is the right thing to do.
Before now the Governor of Imo state senator Hope Uzodinma sealed the Royal spring palm hotel and apartments off Akachi road following the recommendation of judiciary panel of enquiring set up by the Ihedioha’s led government.
The Former Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, on Sunday broke into the apartments and hotels said to be owned by his wife, Nkechi Okorocha, alongside his foot soldiers.
This action by the former Governor, triggered the security operatives in Imo to have arrested and detained him, after clashing with some government top functionaries.
