Court approves recall process of Senator Natasha
A Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, has ruled that the recall process against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is valid.
The court reversed a previous ruling that had stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from accepting petitions from constituents of Kogi Central Senatorial District.
This new decision confirms that the recall process is in line with constitutional rights and supports the ability of citizens to carry out such actions.
The court also advised the people of Kogi Central to carry out their rights in a peaceful and lawful manner.
The ruling follows a request by a group of constituents who sought to recall the senator, which led to the earlier injunction that prevented INEC from proceeding with the process.
This decision allows the recall to continue, including accepting any petitions and considering a referendum on the matter.
The court had previously paused these actions until this new judgment was made.
