CONDUCT OF HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY PRIMARY ELECTIONS IN OWO/OSE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS WITHOUT WARD CONGRESS AND THE UNAVAILABILITY OF THE GENUINE DELEGATES LISTS; AN EXERCISE IN FUTILITY.
This is to bring to the attention of the public and particularly party members that the purported House of Assembly primary election supposedly conducted in Owo and Ose Local Government Areas by the cronies of the governor is nothing but a show of shame.
Party guidelines regarding the conduct of primary election dictate that delegates lists be made available at least 48 hours before the election and all the aspirants must be privy to it.
As at 7pm when our agents monitoring their naked market dance at the venues, nothing indicated an election was going to take place. What they did was to write aspirants in the circle of the governor as winners of the election. The selection eventually took place at at late in the night when everywhere was dark and some appointees of the governor were the umpire. This is not only sad but disgusting.
In a saner clime, these dishornourable men and women should have their places in the zoos. There desperation blindfolded them and disallow them from considering the party electoral rules and democratic norms in this jet age?
For the records, the delegates lists in their possession are nothing but fake. And those they cajoled to believe as national officers supervising the election are nothing but their cronies from other local governments.
Party members are therefore urged to come en mass to the venues of tomorrow’s House of Representatives primary election to resist in totality this show of shame.
All progressive Congress is founded on social justice, fair play and equity. We must not allow these undemocratic elements to throw into dustbin of political history the visions and wishes of the Party founding fathers.
Again, we call on Mr Governor to call these agents of distabilisation to order. Failure which will engender strive and loose of focus before general election.
If the party must collapse, it should not be during the time of an Owo man as the governor of the state. Owo is a kingdom with men and women of integrity and honor.
It is also worthy if note that all other aspirants contesting House of Representative and Senate in the State who are not cronies of the Governor are yet to have access to the delegate list by the time if filing this report. Where is the level play ground promised by the Governor?
You can’t win Primary election through deceit and falsehood and have the thought of ruling the people.
We have to put our house in order as a big family under same platform (APC) by providing a sincere and fair playing ground for all aspirants, without which there will be division and will affect the general election.
