The president, Christ Gospel Apostolic Church, Ezekiel Oyedele, has stated that unscrupulous elements in the nation’s security architecture are frustrating President Bola Tinubu’s effort to sanitise the nation’s security system.

In a press conference tagged ‘The message to the nation’ on Tuesday, he said the bad elements are responsible for the hydra-headed security challenges plaguing the nation’s economic growth, saying that “this is the reason why after tackling one insecurity sect, another springs up.

“There is a compromise in the nation’s security architecture, and it is fueling insecurity, banditry, and kidnapping in the country.”

He acknowledged the President’s effort to address the spate of insecurity in the country and rallied for support from Nigerians to support Tinubu’s economic plan.

“The message I received was in connection with Nigeria, which is passing through some economic, political, and social challenges. The economy is shaking while people are suffering from corruption and economic mismanagement.

“Without any vestige of doubt, the level of poverty, unemployment, and inequality is on the rise. Politically, the country is marred with division, greed, and selfish ambition, while social challenges, including an increase in crime rate, inequality, injustice, as well as religious and ethnic tensions, are evident in the country.

“The Lord, however, assured me that Nigeria could overcome all these afore-mentioned challenges as God is ready to restore Nigeria back to her glory of the past. However, Nigerians should possess the spirit of repentance, unity and progress, ” he averred.

To address the challenges hindering Nigeria’s growth and development, he said the Lord Almighty had mandated all Nigerians to have a 3-day fasting and prayer, which should commence immediately on 24th -26th February 2025.

Quoting the Second Chronicles chapter 7 vs 14 – “ If my people who are called by name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then, I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

“These prayers cut across religion: Christians, Muslims and other religions who believe in God are enjoined to participate in this prayer programme,” he added.

He, however, projected that food prices and essential commodities would be reduced going into the year, urging Nigerians to remain humble in prayers.
