Burden of Destiny : The Aiyedatiwa Factor – Oriade Wellington Crown
That Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is presently grappling with several socioeconomic challenges as he strives to improve the lives of his people is clearly obvious to every citizen of Ondo State. The Sunshine State, with its abundance of beautiful landscapes and natural resources has the potential to be a thriving hub of socioeconomic activities. However, years of sectoral neglect has left the state’s infrastructure mostly in disrepair and left its once proudly independent people struggling to make ends meet.
With his mind focused on ensuring quality service delivery across board and also on how best to deliver on his promises to ensure all citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy, H.E. Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has taken on the mantle of turning Ondo State around despite limited resources and sundry other issues.
The need to harness the inherent potential of the state via its rich human and natural resources is one area that the Number 1 citizen is seriously considering. Hence the state government will undoubtedly look at several steps through which Ondo State can boost its revenue base by diversifying its economy and finding new sources of income. This could include promoting tourism, developing agriculture and other industries and attracting foreign investment.
Finally, the Ondo State Government ably led by its dynamic Governor will adequately focus on developing or improving vital infrastructure in order to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. The road ahead will definitely be bumpy and full of ups and downs but many Ondo State indigenes now believe that a better future is possible. This current high level of public optimism is due to what can only be described as the Aiyedatiwa Factor.
