It is a sad day for the people of Nasarawa state, after unknown gunmen, killed the former Education Secretary of Nasarawa Government area, Malami Salihu, and Kidnapped 20 people who were traveling to Toto Local Government Area of the state
Our heritage reporter gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday, along mungi sharp Conner Buga Gwari, Gadabuke area of Toto LGA.
According to reports, the abducted travelers were aboard 3 different vehicles. It was said that the gunmen, after intercepting their vehicle,
held them at gunpoint and forcefully took them into a thick bush, near the road.
It was gathered that the late Salihu was one of the 20 people kidnapped, however, his lifeless body was discovered on the roadside.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Gadabuke emirate council, Abdullahi Baba confirmed the incident to journalist. He said that the gunmen were up to 10, he said that they ambushed the vehicles and matched their captives into the bush, to an unknown destination.
He said, “the former Education Secretary was also traveling alongside his friend in a private vehicle were also taken away with others but his dead body was later found in a nearby bush.”
He also said that the gunmen haven’t made any contact to the victims’ family yet.
