Eight-year-old boy who vows to avenge father’s death get scholarship for free Education
The wife of Zamfara State Governor, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has promised to sponsor the education of an eight-year-old boy who vowed to avenge the killing of his father by unknown gunmen.
The boy, Umar Mohammed, was seen in a viral video some days ago where he was telling the world that he would avenge the killing of his father whenever he became an adult.
Receiving the boy in her office on Thursday, the governor’s wife, Hurriya Dauda-Lawal, promised to enroll him in military school if he wanted to acquire Western education.
She also promised to render financial assistance to the boy and his mother.
She, however, urged him to forget about seeking revenge.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Development Affairs, Dr Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, pledged the state government’s support for the boy.
The boy had said in a viral video that he was watching when his father was killed and that by the grace of God he would avenge his killing.
Umar said he would continue to pray to God to help him fulfil his mission.
